A New Look for a New Chapter

It’s incredible how much has changed in my life in the last few months. Annie and I quit our jobs, moved to Eugene, Ore., and I started architecture school four weeks ago.

All of these big life changes come at about the same time I’ve been experimenting with Wordpress. The previous version of DaveAmos.com was on ExpressionEngine, a blog platform that made it really easy to design custom templates. After getting into EE, I worked on a couple of projects with Wordpress, notably Annie Get Your Glue Gun, and I was impressed by Wordpress’s template flexibility and it’s superior publishing environment. Basically, it’s slick where EE is still rough around the edges. In the spirit of change, I decided to make the leap to Wordpress.

Over the past year or so, I’ve been posting architecture, housing, and environmental articles. This will continue on the new DaveAmos.com, with even more focus on architecture now that I’m studying it 24 hours a day (only a slight exaggeration). I hope to keep the blog focused on those topics; it’s easy to veer into personal topics on a blog named after me!
